PROVEN LEADERSHIP. REAL RESULTS.

A lifelong public servant, fourth-generation Slidell native, and proven leader.

Randy Fandal is running for Mayor of Slidell with a clear mission: to continue building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous community.

With a 45-year career in law enforcement and over 30 years of leadership and management experience, Randy has dedicated his life to protecting the people of Slidell and Louisiana. He currently serves as the Chief of Police in Slidell, a role he has held since 2016, leading the department through some of its most transformative and successful years.

Randy Fandal has spent his life protecting and serving the people of Slidell. As mayor, he will bring the same dedication, strength, and transparency to City Hall that he brought to the police department. He’s not a politician—he’s a public servant with a proven record of results.

A Lifetime of Service.

Randy began his law enforcement journey in 1980 with the Slidell Police Department, serving as a Patrolman, Detective, and EMT. In 1990, he graduated from the Louisiana State Police Academy at the top of his class, receiving the Douglas M. Millet Award for Academic and Leadership Excellence.

During his 23-year career with the Louisiana State Police, Randy served as a Trooper, Sergeant, and Lieutenant, including roles at Troop L and at State Police Headquarters. He was known nationally for leading the Criminal Interdiction Program, which received acclaim for one of the largest crystal meth seizures in U.S. history—over 500 pounds.

After retiring from LSP in 2011, Randy hiked the 2,184-mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, raising funds for the Troop L Grant-A-Wish program for terminally ill children. He returned to law enforcement in 2013 as a part-time narcotics investigator before being elected Chief of Police in 2016.

Family First

Randy is a proud graduate of Slidell High School (Class of 1978) and the LSU Law Enforcement Institute. He has been married to his wife Dania, a Licensed Social Worker, for 29 years. They have three adult children: Matthew, a State Police Sergeant; Mark, an ICU nurse; and Mallory, a small business owner who operates autism therapy clinics in Slidell and New Orleans. Randy is also a proud grandfather of two—with a third grandchild on the way.
